Please return to this page regularly to review proposed developments with a Discretionary Use and Subdivisions.
What is a Permitted Use and Discretionary Use?
- A Permitted Use means the proposed construction will be approved because it meets all of the zoning bylaw requirements.
- A Discretionary Use means the application does not meet all of the zoning requirements and therefore, the application will only be approved if the Development Officer approves it and no appeals are received through the notification process. In the notification process, a public notice with the application details is placed in the paper and sent to all adjacent property owners of the application.
The purpose of providing the notification to these parties is to provide an opportunity for people who may be affected by these discretionary decisions an opportunity to register an appeal regarding the proposed construction or use of that property.
