May 13-18th, 2019 marks Emergency Preparedness Week in Vegreville and encourages residents of Vegreville to take concrete actions to be better prepared to protect themselves and their families during emergencies.

The Town of Vegreville’s Emergency Management team will be hosting an Emergency Preparedness open house. The purpose of the open house is to promote Emergency Preparedness within the community. The theme for the open house is #prepareyourselfie.

Fire Chief and Co-Director of Emergency Management Phil Rowe states, “We are always at risk of disasters and they may be beyond our control, but there are ways to reduce the risk and the impact of whatever emergency we might face - whether natural or human-induced.”

Join us at our free Open House on Wednesday, May 15 from 2PM-7PM at the Vegreville Social Center (4802-47 St). Climb on board a fire engine, tour through an ambulance and the Government of Alberta -AEMA MESA (Major Event Support Apparatus) Unit. Come out to meet your Emergency Management team, visit safety displays and learn how to prepare and protect you and your family. “It is fun and educational for the whole family!” commented Rowe.
