Lights of Hope

Event Hosts: Town of Vegreville, Country 106.5, Vegreville & District Chamber of Commerce.

For many years, the TELUS candle has provided a beacon of light and hope in the Town of Vegreville during the holiday season. Together with Telus, join us virtually on Tuesday evening at sunset, as we turn on the candle to light our sky as a sign of hope and gratitude to our front line workers.

Prior to the candle lighting, our incredible Emergency Services team will conduct a ‘Lights of Hope’ Parade throughout our community to publicly share our sincere thanks to all those who are continuing to work so that the rest of us might stay home and stay safe. If you are along the route outlined in the map, we invite you to wave from the windows of your home and enjoy the display of hope.

We encourage you to join us in the celebration by:

  • Watching the Country 106.5 Facebook page for a live feed of the parade and candle lighting
  • Turning on your own lights of hope, from Christmas displays to porch lights to candles in the window
  • Posting photos of your light displays using the hashtag #VegrevilleTogether

As isolation measures continue to impact us, we must support our health and well-being, as well as that of our family, friends, and community. Reach out to those in your social circle and community through a phone call, video chat, or a text. Support local businesses by purchasing gift cards or by taking advantage of the many expanded delivery and pick-up options in town. While we may sometimes feel alone in this, we are all in this together. By staying home, we are doing our part.
