PHOTO: Local R.C.M.P. in 1975 with the newly constructed Pysanka (Ukrainian Easter Egg), built to commemorate their 100th anniversary in Western Canada 1874 - 1974. The Pysanka combines the ancient traditions of one of Alberta's largest ethnic groups with cutting edge architectural developments, thus linking heritage and progress. It symbolizes the harmony, vitality and culture of the community. It measures 25.7 feel long 18 feet wide, stands 31 feet high and weighs 5000 lbs.
