The Town of Vegreville was awarded $20,000 through the Alberta Beverage Container Recycling Corporation’s Community Champions Partnership (CCP) program to install twenty-five large-volume recycle bins. These recycling bins have recently been installed at Town facilities and will better accommodate day-to-day use and seasonal traffic.

You can find the new recycling bins at the:

  • Aquatic & Fitness Centre;
  • Wally Fedun Arena;
  • Football Sportsfield;
  • Tennis Courts;
  • Ball Parks 1 & 2;
  • Dog Off-Leash Area;
  • RJV Soccer Fields; and both
  • North and South Walking Trails.

Some of the Town’s recycling bins have been relocated to other locations where they will be better utilized. The Town of Vegreville urges facility users to take full advantage of these bins to help keep our community clean and welcoming.

About the CCP program:

The CCP is an infrastructure grant program that is specially designed for not-for-profit organizations and municipalities in Alberta. The program provides funding for specialized recycling bins (indoor and outdoor) that make out-of-home opportunities for recycling more convenient for and accessible to the public.

Program start-up support is also provided to help Alberta’s community organizations educate the public about the benefits of recycling. This not only keeps beverage containers out of landfills but also provides essential financial and social benefits to participating communities.
