Notice of Subdivision Application

July 15, 2020. Being the Subdivision Approving Authority and pursuant to sections 606 and 674 of the Municipal Government Act, R.S.A. 2000, c.M-26, the Town of Vegreville hereby gives notice that the following subdivision application was submitted for approval:

PROPOSAL: To subdivide off 25 feet of the vacant Lot 2
MUNICIPALITY: Town of Vegreville

An owner of adjacent land may make a written submission to the Subdivision Authority for it to consider when it makes its decision on a proposed plan of subdivision. Adjacent land means land which touches the parcel being subdivided, or which would touch the parcel if it were not separated from it by a highway, road, river or stream.
Any written submission must be received by 12:00 PM on Thursday, July 30, 2020. Your submission should contain your name and mailing address, the location of land you own, and any comments you may wish to make.

Notice of Construction

July 6, 2020. Capital Works Projects 51 STREET – 48 AVENUE TO 52 AVENUE & 48 AVENUE – 52 TO 53 STREET

Nikiforuk Construction has been awarded as the subcontractor for the sanitary sewer service replacements and watermain upgrades for the Town of Vegreville which includes concrete and paving with Border Paving being the General Contractor.
This project has 2 components:
A) Sanitary Sewer Main Replacement and Watermain Upgrades (Nikiforuk Construction)
B) Surface Works (Border Paving)
Nikiforuk Construction will be commencing on Tuesday, July 7, 2020. It is anticipated that the underground sewer and water replacements will take up to 3 weeks to complete (all work will be weather permitting).
Residences and businesses along 51 Street, 48 to 52 Avenue will be supplied with temporary water. Scheduled water outages will occur to facilitate watermain tie-in to existing water. Residents will be given notice of the water outages.

Notice of Road Closure

July 2, 2020. Please be advised that effective Thursday, July 2 at 8:00 AM, 52 Street between 48 Avenue & 49 Avenue will be FULLY closed for road repairs. As of 3:30 PM on July 2, 2020, 52 Street has re-opened however will re-close again at 8:00 AM, July 3, 2020 to finish repairs.

Residents are cautioned that the alley between 48 Avenue and 49 Avenue is blocked off until the repair is complete, which is anticipated to be by July 3, 2020 at 5:00 PM, weather depending. 

We appreciate your patience during this repair and thank you for respecting the construction zone.

Notice of Public Hearing

June 24, 2020. Public Notice is hereby given pursuant to sections 606 and 674 of the Municipal Government Act, R.S.A. 2000, c.M-26, of proposed Resolution respecting the removal of the Reserve designation from, and the subsequent disposal, by way of sale of the lands legally described as:
This public hearing will be held on July 21, 2020 at 6:30 PM at the Vegreville Social Centre, located at 4802 – 47A Street, Vegreville, Alberta. A copy of the proposed Resolution is available for inspection at the Town of Vegreville’s Office located at 4829-50 Street, Vegreville, Alberta.

Notice of Bridge Maintenance on Highway 16

June 16, 2020. Crews will be completing repairs on the Vermilion River Bridge from June 15 to August 6, 2020. Those travelling East and West on Yellowhead Highway (16) near the SH857 intersection should expect delays.

Drivers should be prepared to reduce their speed to 50 km/h, navigate narrowed lanes and one lane travel, and the possibility of being delayed up to 30 minutes.
